Hi Kristin

All your ideas are good ways to invest in real estate but you will have to figure out what you and your family are willing to live with or without.  It sounds like you are set on using cash, Dave Ramsey fan possibly?, but interest rates are extremely low which could let you leverage your capital that could lead to investing in more property which could lead to more cash flow and future appreciation.  Another possibility is to partner with someone who knows what they are doing. They provide their proven investing system, you provide capital, and you split the profits while you learn from them.  There are so many possible ways to invest in real estate and hopefully BP can provide you with everything you are looking for.  Let me know if you want to chat some more.

Good Luck!

Hi Jennifer

I don't know what part of Orange County your property is in but I don't think the market has been slow either.  If it is taking very long to get offers and they are much lower than list price it sounds to me like your property was over valued and listed too high.  If you want to PM me as well I will give you my opinion on the property value.  Good luck!

Hello

I live in Orange County Ca and just wanted to introduce myself.  I signed up for bigger pockets months ago but haven't been able, correction, haven't taken the time to truly focus on my future in real estate and create a profile on bigger pockets.  Well, I'm extremely focused and all in to become a full time real estate investor.  I currently have a full time job that I really enjoy but it will not provide the economic security/ freedom that I desire for my family.  I enjoy Real Estate and have been slowly getting my feet wet over the past 6 years.  I bought my first property in 2010 and currently use it as a rental.  I got my Real Estate Brokers license in 2012, did a flip in 2014, and manage a couple rentals for family.  I would love to talk to anyone about anything real estate and hopefully add value to anyone in the area.  At the same time, I would love to learn as much as I can, link up with like minded people, and grow as an investor and person.  If anyone is doing business in Orange County or the surrounding areas, I would love to touch base and see if there is anything I could offer you.  I'm really looking forward to trying to add as much as I can to the bigger pockets community.

Thanks for reading
