Thanks for the responses @Nelson Taylor and @Aaron K. So would I be able to do all the coursework up here and just have to be in-state to take the licensing exam?

Hello BP Realtors!

I'm going to be moving to Orlando somewhere between late May and mid-June, and I want to get my license and become an active agent as soon as I can once I get there. I'm not currently licensed now, so this is a whole new realm for me. I got licensed up here in Pennsylvania back in 2016, but I never hung my license with a broker for family/personal reasons. Anywho, I'm hoping to be as prepared as possible before my move and am looking to do research in advance. What would be the best way to learn about the market from up here in Pennsylvania? I'll be visiting for a week in March so I could go to some open houses and such while I'm there, but honestly I'm not sure what I'm doing. Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance!

Howdy, I'm out of Drums, PA as well. Drums is located between Hazleton and Wilkes Barre

Any wholesalers in the NEPA with a great deal? I'm trying to start rehabbing homes in or around Drums/Hazle Twp. Let me know what you have!

Thanks @Jared Wengerd, I appreciate the help! How do you typically  study your market? I've been looking at housing prices but I figure that can't be quite so accurate because list price and sale price is always different. Do you by any chance have a website you would recommend or some other way to study?
Thanks in advance!

So I'm an aspiring fix-n-flipper out here in NEPA. Because I'm new and don't have a whole lot of capital, I've been driving for dollars to try and locate deals. My question is: once I find a deal, how do I know how much to offer on the property? Normally, the best way to find the value of a property would be to use comps from the MLS correct? Well, as I'm not licensed, how would I be able to obtain comps? I assume working with an agent wouldn't make sense because the seller usually looks to avoid agents because it costs them extra money.

Thanks for that little tip, but I was actually looking to flip due south of Wilkes in the Hazle Twp and surrounding areas. Though I'm sure there's money to be had in Wilkes.

Hey all

Thanks for the replies everyone! Since posting this, I've decided to go ahead and move forward with the course and am hearing the end of the course. All I have left to do is to take the final licensing test.

Hello everyone! I'm very excited to begin investing. If anybody is from my area or surrounding areas, please send me a message! I'd love to connect with people who are near me doing what I'm aspiring to do. I'm interested in Fix-and-flipping single family homes and buy-and-hold investing in small multifamily homes (for now!). I look forward to hearing from you.
