Nice to meet you Kateesha, we should keep in touch to motivate and educate one another through our failures and successes.

The reason for going with rentals to start with is to create monthly income to work with on a daily basis (eventually replace my job) as flips may come less frequently or reliably. I want to ensure I have funds regardless as to whether or not I am out and about on any given day.

Again, no plan survives contact with the enemy, so we will see as time goes on.

I will be attending the TREIA meeting next week, thanks for the heads up. What can I expect upon arrival?

Yeah Mebane is growing and its location between Raleigh and Greensboro seems like a good place for even more growth moving forward.

Has anyone had any investments out this way? (27302)

just getting to the podcast is a simple milestone. I mean think about it.. you have done something enough, either in a good way or a bad way, that someone wants to record it and air it out to thousands of people.

It will either be a glorious success or a amazing failure. Either way, probably makes for a good story.

Hello,

I am a new member here on bigger pockets. I am looking to learn, connect, and work with people in the central NC region (I'm in Mebane, but drive as far as Raleigh and Greensboro). I am tackling the initial steps of learning about investing by taking one or two challenges a month and trying to get those done. This month, its learn and meet possible team members (broker, agent, contractor, etc) and read at least one investment book.

As an overall plan, I have broke it down in phases.

Phase 1: Educate and prepare. Pay off all current debt, save cash

Phase 2: Invest in rentals to build cash flow and learn.

Phase 3: Invest in flips to gain access to larger sums of cash at once.

Phase 4: Quit my job.

Phase 5: Get on bigger pockets podcast.

No idea if any of this will actually work, and no plan survives contact with the enemy, but I gotta start somewhere.

Give me a shout if you want to network or have any advice. I'm open to anything so don't be shy.
