Well, Tim, I failed miserably as it relates to the license. I got it, but I just couldn't bring myself to work that hard. So, if you're asking how to succeed with a license - be damned if I know :)

Investing-wise it's easy - inherit a ton of money and go buy some ****!

Yep...that's about it :)

Good luck, man!

I have enough **** at my job, why would I buy more?! ;)

Thanks Mark! BP is full of great information. I'm working on taking it in so I can start to work on my first deal.

What type of investing are you looking at? Buy and Hold? And where are your target areas?

I am looking into Buy and Hold. I'm going to be moving to Lansing in the next few weeks. SO I'm going to look there and as I expand to the Grand Rapids area.

Leon,

I am just getting started in REI as well. Obtained my RE license so I can control and be first to good deals. Not to mention the $ savings. I also finished Rich Dad, Poor Dad a few months ago. IT definitely makes you WAKE UP and see things in a different perspective.

This is something I have to keep telling myself and that is to be focused and determined. It's nerve racking breaking from a "complacent" state that a 9-5 job develops in you. I don't know about you, but having seen the world outside of that state is ridiculously exciting!!

Those are nice houses! Definitely great for rental properties. What area are they located in?

Alex - The house looks killer great job! I'm looking for my first opportunity (I just got my RE license last week) to get into investing so its good to see that if you get through the setbacks you can learn a ton and be successful!

Awesome John!

Very exciting. I am new to BP and real estate investing. Reading this is great because it shows that if you put in the work and learn that you can be successful and create great deals.

Hi Everyone!

I'm new to real estate. I just received my license this week and am planning to do investing when I'm not at my day job.

Would anyone mind sharing how they got started and if there is anything that I should be prepared for in getting started?

Thanks !!!
