@Jay Hinrichs Thank you! How much would you say that I could gain from buying and studying the ULI book? I plan to land an accounting position in a developing firm and study as much as I can from real world experience.

Hello BP family,
I have been on BP for a couple of years now and it has helped me tremendously, I love it! My name is Touré Smith, I am a junior at Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL. majoring in Accountancy. Although I live in Macomb for school, Chicago is home.
Now, I am stuck how one can become a developer, without a formal education (My major is Accountancy and I graduate in 2019, if I add additional classes, I will be staying in school longer than I would like). I have seen many posts on this topic stating that one should work with a development company which I plan to do once I graduate, HOPEFULLY, *fingers crossed* but can I read books like ULI to gain knowledge on starting my own firm?
I appreciate and welcome all constructive criticism and advice.
Also, if there are any investors/developers in Chicago, IL. who are in need of a bookkeeper and/or an assistant, I would love to meet with you and discuss where I can be of assistance and what I can help accomplish.
Thank you,
Touré Smith
