2.) The "The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing."

This site is so powerful and big, it can be overwhelming! But just ask a lot of questions, get to know people, and start growing. And definitely read through those two links above!

Oh -and don't forget a photo! Let us know if we can help you out in any way :)

Wow, you all are fantastic! Completed #1) BP Start here and half way through #2) The Ultimate Beginner's Guide to Real Estate Investing. I am a member of multiple online forums (Car manufactures, Tech, Sports and more). The difference about this forum is it's members! The ever willing desire to help and quickly is truly surprising and comforting. It's good to find a community that believes what I believe and teach. "Giving Freely, and teaching those who are willing to learn". This Forum has kept me from eating all morning, i've been reading for hours. But I love it!

Good afternoon BiggerPockets!

I will do the norm here and post a new member discussion.

I recently attended the Rich Dad education 3 day seminar on real estate investing and I want to say THANK YOU Bigger Pockets members and creators. After attending the first 2 days with business friends we all stayed up extremely late discussing if we should purchase the advanced courses beginning at 11K. After going home at around 2am from one of the friends home, I still wasn't at ease with a final decision. So I turned to what has made me the most money so far in my short career; the computer. Going through my usual research techniques I found what seemed like at the time, a swarm of posts on this topic.

Saying that many of you had bad things to say about RD education is an understatement but i've learned how to decipher through the non-sense in reviews over the years. I read an enormous amount submitted by users on this site and I am extremely thankful for everyones input. What I took from the many bad and the few good is: Yes, Real Estate is a profitable industry. No, RD Education is NOT a scam, Yes, You can learn all about Real Estate by seeking other sources instead of paying 11k. And most of all I learned just how much I didn't already know, which is an enormous amount. I'm not ashamed to walk away from the RD advanced education courses today, who knows I may attend later which I would love to. But right now, I realized I haven't sought out many other resources to learn about Real Estate investing on my own. Not wise for me to spend 11K on something I don't have a solid foundation on in the first place.

I spent $200 on the 3 day course I just attended, and YES it was worth the $200. Simply because my eyes were opened to an industry I knew little about and changed many of the thought processes we were taught in society and in college.

For now, I will learn as much as possible through this site, other resources (books and more), learn from mistakes others make and seek a mentor who is willing to teach someone whom is extremely driven and charitable.

Thanks BiggerPockets community! and Thanks Allen Swails from Rich Dad Poor Dad. You all opened my eyes to the possibilities in the world of Real Estate. I hope to learn an enormous amount from experts in this community! Im a sponge with only drop of water on it!

Thanks for reading, sorry for the long post!

This would be awesome, let's do it!

Excellent rules I agree, this should be a place focused on helping others!

Good afternoon Juliet,

This being my 1st post do not take what I have been told and go out to do it. I'm not sure if this is correct or not. I wont go into the full story but during the Rick Dad Poor Dad 3 day seminar which I just participated in this past weekend.

Allen told us: Place our Real Estate into the L.L.C after creating an S Corp. Also include Umbrella Insurance for 1 million. His reasoning which I really hope an expert hear can confirm PLEASE!!! Is that by doing this it helps protect our assets (real estate) if we are ever sued. Because the courts can only see where the last transaction a title on a property went. Also placing the S Corp you create as the managing member when you create the L.L.C.
