I agree with Curt. This is a high-risk area and appreciation should not be the end goal. Look for Cashflow and a solid property manager.

@Shmuel HarrisGreat discussion topic @Jessica G.

What type of pitch would you suggest in the NY area? Also do you guys have suggestions for real estate groups to join in and around the city. I wholesaled a bit in Nashville and Memphis in areas that were undergoing major redevelopments. I primarily used mailers and door knocking to generate contracts. Definitely would like to gain some input from established NY investors.

Greetings,

Investor/wholesaler from Memphis,TN but began I Real Estate journery in Nashville,TN. After having success assigning a couple of contracts, I purchased a duplex in Memphis,TN. (Currently hold 3) Became an agent in Nashville,Tn but had little success , although the market was, and still is on fire. Recently started my own real estate investment company. (Cross Real Estate Company DBA Cross RE Investments) Moved to New York City to continue to grow the company and obtain my masters dregree in Real Estate Development.

Currently getting my NY RE license before school starts in the fall.

In addition, I am looking to work with developers and builders in the New York city area for guidance in the development market. Looking to learn market strategies, Ny sales and marketing and possible apprenticeships.
