I've recently installed a DIY mini split system in my own residence. This system came with a precharged line set so there is no need to fill with nitrogen and pull a vacuum. I'd rate myself pretty high on the DIY ability scale but it was rather easy and I think that most DIYers could install these systems after watching a YouTube video or two. By far the most technical aspect is the electrical if you need to add a breaker and run electrical.

Other's concerns about placement is valid depending on the layout of the home. I have this in my finished basement and it's doing a great job of heating my house so long that I keep the basement door open.

Hi everyone,

I'm from the Allentown, PA area and I'm looking to purchase my first investment property in the Lehigh Valley.

I've had pretty good success on fixing and selling my first home (5 years ago) but really wish I had kept it as a rental. So, real estate is something I've wanted to do for a long time now and I finally feel I'm ready to jump in. My ultimate goal is to build a buy-and-hold portfolio.

If anyone else is in the LV I'd love to connect to chat about your experiences and the types of properties you hold in your portfolio.

Tom

Hi @Rob Jones

I'm in the Lehigh Valley and I'm new to BP as well. I'd be interested in hearing about some lessons learned from renting your former residence. That is something my wife and I plan on doing when we move, eventually. In the meantime our goals sound similar in building a buy-and-hold portfolio and I'm currently on the hunt for my first investment property.
