Hello! I’ll cut to the chase. I have been interested in real estate investing for about 2 years and now I want a job to gain some experience in the field. My dilemma is that I don’t want to become a real estate agent and that’s the career that many people say I should have. I am looking for something more on the acquisitions side, that way when I start to invest I will have some experience. Acquisition roles that I have seen require you to be an agent for an extended period of time before moving to an acquisitions role. What jobs do you all know of that would be good to start applying for? I am in the Winston Salem, NC area but ideally I would start investing in Dallas or Houston , TX. Any advice you could give would be greatly appreciated, it doesn’t have to match my location preferences. Thank you!!

@Aaron Belt thanks Aaron! I've never though about investing in land but I may check it out. Thanks for the podcast suggestions and I'll definitely reach out to talk.

@Jason Coleman wow that's great! I would love to sit down with you and talk about investing. My plan at the moment is similar to what you said, buy a house then live in one room and rent out the others.

@James Wise thank you! glad to be here

@Marlon Fong thank you and I think I have the right place too haha

Hello everyone! My name is Tim and I have been researching real estate investing for the past few months and have been listening to the BP podcast for about the same amount of time. I'm 20 years old, a student, work part-time, and live in the Greensboro NC area. It is nice to "meet" you all and I hope to have many productive conversations through this forum!

Hello Everyone! I was talking at a bank with a teller about how I am interested in real estate investing and wanted to shadow someone and she connected me with someone that works at her bank who I'm assuming invests in real estate (or at least has clients that are real estate investors). I've been listening to numerous podcasts over the last few months but I don't know exactly what to say to this man (the possible investor) when we meet next week. Are there any questions that you all know I should ask? Also, is there a way that I can sell myself better to him or anyone else that I want to shadow besides having done research for a few months and being eager to learn? ANY input is greatly appreciated!! Thank you
