I completely understand, i feel the same way and even more limited in that i have a hard time finding the ones that want hand outs. i noticed it said you are in Richmond, on one of my post i had a guy respond by the name of Brian Rhodes. he re furred me to the Richmond REIA. Maybe you could speak with him and maybe find a mentor that suites you in your area. consider yourself lucky to some extent, the nearest REIA for me is 80 or more miles away.

Hello i was wondering how many people to RE investing on the side while working another job vs how many people have taken the plunge into RE investing as there only job. Also for those of you that do this as your usual work at what point did you decide it was right for you? No rights or wrongs just wondering how people felt, and thoughts when transitioning.

I've been in the same state of mind as yourself, and I have made the decision to take the class and get my real estate agent license. Once i take the class personally i hope it will give me a better understanding of not only the basics but put me in touch with other investors. However i am very very new to investing unlike yourself.

thanks Brian, I do believe it would be worth my time. Unfortunately i work evenings so i will have to try and attend a later meeting one of which i could request time off. Does your RREIA meet on particular days of each month? Is there any site where i could get more info on meeting dates and directions and such? If and when I am able to make it i hope to see you there and i will be sure to introduce myself. Thank you again.

Thank you very much for your insightful opinion. I will search through all of the sites you mention and greatly appreciate your time. I will be looking for an individual who would be an equal to yourself, if only we lived in the same area lol. Again thank you very much.

Hello, I apologize I'm sure this has been asked before but i am wondering how to go about finding a local REIA. I live outside of Winchester Va. through my searches i have found many groups for larger areas such as the DC metro area and Norther Va, as well as Richmond. So i am wondering how should i go about finding a group for a smaller city. If there is no such group for my area do you all think an investment realtor could help mentor me? I feel that i would be seen as a nuisance, am i just being to pessimistic? Or should i either pay for teaching or offer services in exchange for mentor ship? I have been reading as much as i can since joining BP this past week but i also would like face to face learning, especially if its specific to my area. Thanks for any advice.
