Jordan,

Philly-The land of soft pretzels, the Art Museum and Rocky Balboa!!.

You will want to participate in the Delaware Valley Investor Group, RING, the Greater Philadelphia Real Estate Investor Alliance and other groups you can find on the Internet.    Sometimes there is a coach/investor advertising on Facebook a tour of their current rehabs.  All of these are valuable experiences that can mold and improve your knowledge.  A coworker of mine always says that knowledge is power. When you are ready to look for a property, you can reach out to me if you want to.  I'll help you.

Are you near Harrisburg or the York area?.  There are meetup groups of real estate investors in the area that are great for networking and exchanging information..  My suggestion is to look them up on the Internet or the meetup site.

Good luck and have fun!

Adam,

Good luck and congratulations.

Meeting people is one of the best activities you can do.  Today there are practically real estate investing groups in every county, and you probably have one in Allentown.

Call or PM me if you have questions.

I am new to BP myself.

I am a Realtor familiar with Philly as I lived there for 37 years.  You are right that the best experience is doing it.  You can also attend Philadelphia Real Estate Investors Association, the Delaware Valley Investor Group and RING group meetings as networking and educational opportunities.   You can look them up on the Internet under real estate investor meetups.  Some of them may require membership fees.

Also a way to find out what's happening in the neighborhoods is from PlanPhilly.com.  This is the public TV online news resource that contains local news by neighborhood.  Obviously,  the best way to  find by going through them and experiencing the people and the neighborhood.

Don't hesitate to call, text or message me.  When you're ready to explore the neighborhoods or would care for information about them, let me know and I'll be happy to talk to you or even show you around!

Giang,

These investing groups have gotten big and are helpful.  The key is to participate, ask questions and be a sponge.    I am a Realtor with Weichert and very knowledgeable about Philly,  You are right about UCITY.  There is a plan for development in the area.
