My wife was offered a job as a real estate appraiser for a private company which includes free training. We are wanting to know how valuable this experience might be in our real estate investment ventures?

@Hattie Dizmond & @Jason Quick

Thanks for the advice. Honestly, I hadn't even thought about the closing, title insurance etc. side of things. I've actually never even bought a house of my own (just land) so clearly I have a lot to learn.

I found an attorney in my area who specializes in real estate and has stellar reviews. The only thing is on her website description it mentions that "commercial landlords and tenants value her extensive experience..." and "multi-family housing, including HUD subsidized..etc." but no mention of residential.

So my question is, generally speaking would a lawyer with extensive experience in commercial real estate also be a good fit for a residential investor or are they two separate animals all together?

Post: CPA Good In Tax Planning

I'm looking for some recommendations for a CPA with a good understand of REI who is good at tax planning. Most CPA's I've dealt with are little more than tax return filers which we don't need. I need someone who understand how to navigate the grey areas and save every penny legally possible. Any suggestions?

At least in my current business, our mission statement (or maybe that's not even the right term) helps define our purpose and sets a clear path to the result. Of course making money is the ultimate goal, but we do, after all, need to convince other people we are worth doing business with as opposed to doing business with another investor.

I'm just starting out but I am having difficulty defining how it is I am really helping a distressed homeowner and why I would be a better solution than any other of the thousands investors competing for their house.

@Jerry Puckett mentioned this in a podcast and I thought maybe it was the answer to the paragraph above. Perhaps if you read this Jerry you can share your mission statement?

For those of you who are flipping and wholesaling, would you mind sharing your mission statement with me? I would greatly appreciate it!

@Jerry W. Thanks for the advice. I agree that so many people nowadays are more worried about extracting every last dollar possible rather than providing quality service for the client and that's in every field. I'll be sure to ask about their fees.

Filing the paperwork to form the company isn't my big concern. I just need some advice on how to best set it up. I have one company already and it will to some degree be intermingled with the RE business and I need someone to advise me on how to go about that the proper way.
