I am a local Sarasota Realtor and this is absolutely an option. Keeping land costs down is the biggest thing I see with new construction in Sarasota. There are plenty of areas just outside of Sarasota that have promise as well. I would be happy to speak further on it, my background is REO repairs, High end custom construction/remodels, and now Real Estate Sales.
