@Julius Johnson we’re currently in a 203k and the cons are that it takes much longer to get into the property due to more paperwork, delays, and contractor planning. But it’s definitely worth it if the numbers work. The only other downside is that you can’t do any of the work yourself on the property unless you are a qualified person who’s approved by the lender. That’s a bummer for me because I love me some remodelin’

@Steve Emling Sheer determination. I get really bothered when I set a goal and I fail at it. But bothered in a good way. Bothered meaning, determined to try again and make it work.

My second is was a bigger issue when I first started but not so much anymore, and that is proving the naysayers. Being young and having a small chip on your shoulder is not always the best way to go about life, but hey it worked for me, and I hate to say it, but many many maaany of the naysayers and people that laughed at me are now the ones swinging by my projects, asking advice, pitching their ideas to me and wanting in on things. I’m by no means financially free or wealthy, but even having a few properties shushed the critics pretty quickly. Anyways, onto more positive vibes nowadays!

@Alyssa Kroeker Res flag city. If I had a tenant applicant tell me that that it’s illegal and arguing before even being accepted (even if the tenant is right) I’d find anything legally to deny them. That will be a detrimental long headache id avoid like the plague.

@Bryan Clement couldn’t agree more. If I don’t work out, my entire day/week suffers. I’ve got a bit of a habit where if I don’t work out, a beer or two will take its place, making me more tired, less energetic, and a bigger case of the “screw it’s”. That’s a terrible thing to have with the career I’m in, so fitness must come first. Good post

@Samantha Miller sounds to me like you’ve.. “Got a couple friends who are living there for free and are paying you back a monthly personal loan in cash for a year..” hints the quotations lol.. I definitely wouldn’t overthink it. You’re going to do great.

Gotta love when people say “get rid of your millennial mindset” like there was no such thing as wanting a job you actually like before millennials were born. I understand the grinding hard and using your income at a job that pays well compared to dancing around job to job until you find one you like and postponing your investment career though, just an odd “go to” now a days to blame everything on millennials like it’s a new concept to want to be happy at your day to day. I’m a blue collar worker and get paid pretty well, and don’t care for what I do and will stay here until my real estate ventures pay for my way out, I just wanted to chime in on the strange wording that so many seem to agree with.

@Seth Macomber Chedda baby! Just joking, financial freedom is 99.99% of the reason, and setting up a life for my future children is another.

Post: How Do You Have Time to Be So Active on BP?!

For me personally if I hadn’t started spending time on BP when I first found the site I NEVER would have gotten where I am today, which still isn’t very far into my investing career, but farther than I ever would have been. It’s like a healthy addiction. I feel like if you pull out your phone on a down time and you immediately think of opening BP over let’s say, Instagram or Facebook, then your head is in the right place. Just my two cents.
