@Sylvia B. I believe in MO there is 1 yr redemption period but there are 4 yrs that an interested party can challenge the legal process, meaning that they can not challenge the title itself but they can challenge the County for the foreclosing procedure (example, missing a proper notice etc.)

You shouldn't have started paying all the taxes since you only own 1% of the property and if the rest of the owners do not give up then there is not much you can do, the best way now is to figure out if one of the 8 owners is willing to buy your 1%. If not, then I guess you have to find out how to get the other 99% ownership. Btw, who are the 8 owners? are they also certificate buyers or they are original owners of the property? @Kim Ballard

I've been researching on this forum for a long time and finally stepped out for my first rental property! Thank you for everyone providing tons of useful information! I wish everything goes smoothly and I could achieve financial freedom one day! (I used to do a lot of tax liens and deeds but this is the first rental! Excited!)

Be very careful, depending on your state, it’s very hard to get clear title for tax defaulted properties, you usually need wait redemption period expires then suit quiet title for marketable title

Another year for Shelby County tax sale! Did anyone purchase anything last year on civicsource, can you share your experience? How's Civic Source? When did you buy it? Did you renovate and hold as rentals? Thanks

Depending on the state, you can quiet the title before asking for insurances
