Post: Why obtain your real estate license

Investors with a real estate license: did you get your license for MLS access? Wondering what else would motivate an investor to obtain their real estate license if they're already investing. And if that's something I need to explore as a new investor. Thanks!
@Samantha Klein Great point and I thought about that and committed to helping my sibling already... we have lived with each other for a couple of years now. I feel like the right thing to do is to help them and am willing to bear the consequences should it go sour.
@Greg - thanks for your response! I woul be treating my sibling as a tenant so if I buy SFH, my sibling would pay rent to me and I would live there until I find the next property. Would you steer against that? Thanks!
I initially started looking at duplexes to house hack and am looking in West Allis and Greenfield specifically. The reason for that is to pay little to no rent while building capital for the next investment property. I will be moving with a sibling first, then the next property would be just me while my sibling is a tenant in the first. I'm starting to wonder if I should open up to single family properties as well? The only downside is no other tenant help with paying mortgage but it'll already be less than what we're renting for now. The property would be funded traditionally - does anyone know how I can move to the next investment property shortly after (within a year)? (Thinking in terms of minimum time required for showing proof of rental income, occupancy, types of loans available). Thanks much!
