Add Hoopla to that list. Public libraries allow you to use it for free, plenty of ebooks and audio books you can borrow.

@Tanya H. Thank you! Oh wow, that's a great way to stay connected to home.

I definitely agree, which is why I desire to get to work now.

Yes, I have and I am interested in buy-and-hold, flipping properties, BRRRR strategy and many others, but I understand that I need to choose one and test the waters, the fun of diversification can come later. I am confident that I could land my first deal ASAP, which will have to be a no to low money down approach if I go about it by myself. I have a few prospective private money lenders for future purchases.

What type of strategies do you currently use in your portfolio? What strategy would you suggest for a newbie who wants to gain capital quickly? I have thought about wholesaling, but I'll have my license soon, so I figured no point in creating a conflict of interest.

Thank you all for the welcome!!

@Jerry Maxson, I have a meeting at 5:45 that evening. If that wraps up in time, hopefully you all will still be there. Good to know there are some local meet ups. Thank you for the invite!

Hello all,

My name is Sydnie Medina, a 24 year-old graduate of the University of Michigan. I am new to BE and the real estate industry. I currently work for a large chemical company near my hometown on their procure-to-pay team, but I'm focused on working towards my goal of financial freedom and building my own career as an entrepreneur.

I desire to invest in my hometown area, as well as the metro Detroit area and Ann Arbor to begin, maybe even out-of-state in the future. I have passed the pre-licensure class to obtain my license in MI, next steps are to secure a broker and pass the state exam, so I am familiar with MI law.

I am completely motivated and hungry to learn all that I can. I'm consuming all the content that I can! Amazon is a close friend of mine now :)

Within the last week and a half, I have already secured meetings with local investors, real estate brokers/realtors and am vetting brokers in other areas in order to transition locales in the near future. I am proactive and serious about creating genuine relationships that are going to be mutualistic in nature.

I am diving in head first. Please introduce yourselves, leave any tips/strategies for me as a beginning investor and additional helpful information to kickstart my career.

I'm so glad I found the BiggerPockets podcast, the site and the amazing network/resources it offers!
