How do I find mom and pop landlords on Craig’s list? What kind of key words do you search with?

I was curious if there was any Michiganders on BP who have their real estate agents license. I’m looking into getting mine and wanted some suggestions and recommendations. Anything helps!

@Zachary Metler I drive around Ypsi everyday working on properties for my boss. I’m curious to know how you’re finding deals (driving for dollars, letters, agents, MLS)?

@Nathan DeJonge Yeah I live between Jackson and Lansing, went to school at eastern so I’m familiar with Ypsilanti and a little bit of Westland. You have investment properties near Ann Arbor? I’m curious how you found those deals. Seams like the powerhouse investors around that area grab everything before it hits the market.

Does anyone know of some good cities to invest in for multi family properties in Michigan? Specifically looking for BRRRR properties. Looked into Lansing, Jackson, and Westland/Ypsilanti but I fear the crime rate is too high in these cities.

@Nick Rutkowski I’m currently a maintenance technician for a company with many historic homes and they’re beautiful! But a PAIN to work on. Every door, window, handles, kitchen cabinets, EVERYTHING always has to be retrofitted.

Ya, I realize these shows aren’t the most honest thing in the world but still! 50k on a single family home in Detroit is just ridiculous. Even for a tv show lol.
