Wow. Where is the ground going?  I’m no fan boy of open door, but did they even know about it?

One of the foundation repair tech mentioned it must be from plumbing fix through tunnel and never filled back

Thank you for taking time to reply, they intentionally blocked the void of rest of the home with wood when fixing drowsy void. I don’t if that was vendor’s Decision or Opendoor chosen to fix half.

Quote from @Scott Mac:

Did some type of animal make that tunnel for it's nest, or is it some kind of naturally occurring thing in that area?

Maybe a huge snake nest, or some other burrowing animal?

Rattle snakes live underground in the desert in tunnels.

From experts opinion its plubmbing reapir and they didnot fill the dirt back.

Quote from @Bill B.:

Depends. Since it wasn’t the owner occupant probably nothing. Many/most contracts have a check box in the disclosures that basically says the seller didn’t occupy the home and therefore wouldn’t know about any problems. Check the seller’s disclosure section of your contract.

I mean, obviously they didn’t know about it or they wouldn’t have bought it. Maybe you want to go after the person that sold it to open door? If you can prove they knew about it. But how would they? If there are 100,000 sellers, maybe 500 have a void? And maybe 10 knew about it? Maybe less? Short of finding recent work done under the slab I don’t see how you win.

Let us know what happens. Being a big company they may do more to make you happy than any personal seller ever would and certainly more than they legally have to. Pretend you plan to flip this property. Are you going to warn all potential buyers that all the other bathrooms may have giant voids under them? Do you expect to reimburse your buyer if they find own you didn’t know about?

Thank you for taking time to respond. Since they have reapired void under driveway and put wood blocks to other void inside the void, am hoping they have info of this. Even if they dont, should diclose about the void repair they paid for driveway which would have given me scope to ask more questions and all.

Hi All, Purchased home in texas last week from opendooor, While doing bathroom remodeling found there is big void or dirt missing under foundation, about 25 ft long, 10 ft width, 4 ft depth. Below link has the video of the void.

When reached out to seller realtor, mentioned that, they have worked with Vendor on filing void under Driveway and said they have no idea about this other big void under the home.

Above Drive way void fillup was not disclosed in SD and bought to our notice only now after closing.

Garage area has big void, which potentially would have collapsed if parked vehicle there. its big risk in my opinion. Am working with foundation companies to fix.

Since seller did not mention about drive way void fix which is also connecting to the other void under home, what will my options in this case. Thsi would have been major consideration with my offer if knew upfront about the issue.

Thank you in advance for your time.
