Hello! Has anyone had success purchasing properties on sites like Auction.com and Bankforeclosuresale.com or other similar sites? If so, how was your experience with using these sites and what's the process? Any tips or insights you can share for using these sites?

Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your success story! I am a newbie in the LA/OC area and looking to get into flipping in the area with little capital to start. I have also gotten a lot of negative feedback from the people around me which is so discouraging. It's great to see someone that started in a similar position become so successful!

@Michael Kelly thanks so much for providing such detailed feedback! Your post was really helpful! :)

Hi Everyone! It seems like everyone looks for different qualities and characteristics in potential flip properties. Can anyone share specifically what they look for in a property before committing to flipping the property? I’m curious to see all of the different criteria everyone has for their flip investments. Thanks! Sunshine
Wiley Strahan there were a few meetups in the area to tour current flips, but the ones that I’ve seen conflict with my schedule so I haven’t had a chance to go to any yet. If you have time, you might consider checking out some of those to get more insight on flipping. :)

Hi Wiley! I am also in the LA/OC area looking to get started on my first investment! Have you been to any of local meetups? If so, which ones?

@Joseph Cornwell congrats! and thanks for sharing your story! I'm a complete newbie and just starting to research and create a game plan so it's inspiring to see how goals setting helped in your journey!

@Aaron K. and @Ryan Luby thanks so much for the feedback!

@Ryan Luby thanks for the alternative backup strategy suggestion! I will definitely keep that in mind when looking at properties. I hadn't thought of converting from a flip to a rental if the flip struggles to sell. It's a really great idea!

Hi everyone! I'm an investor newbie and would love to start my real estate investing journey with flipping houses. I currently work a 9-5 job M-F and my husband and I own our home. I was wondering how much we need to save up to dive into our flip? I read about a bunch of creative financing ideas including taking out a HELOC, private loans, or hard money loans, but it sounds pretty risky to completely leverage my first deal. Especially since property in the OC/LA area is so expensive. How did you fund your first few projects?

Hi everyone! My husband and I are from the LA/OC area in Southern California. We would like to start real estate investing in the hopes of gaining financial freedom and have the option to leave our regular day jobs, but we're not sure where to start. So far we've signed up for a few meetup groups and have started reading different real investing books and forums. We are also thinking about becoming part time real estate agents to help build more capital to participate in real estate investments and are in the process of researching real estate companies that we may be able to work with. Any book/forum recommendations, meetup recommendations, or tips on how or where to start would be greatly appreciated! I look forward to meeting you all! :)
