Post: Establishing an LLC

If you look over the posts here on Bigger Pockets you will find the majority consensus that you do not need an LLC. When you are starting out and have nothing to "lose" why go through the trouble and expense of doing all of that? You will know when it is time to "go big" and then you will be in a position to better create things to protect/enhance your growing business. Before you think about setting up an LLC, get a good CPA and lawyer team in place and then ask for guidance. No need to waste time and money on steps which do not make money. - Just my 2 cents.

Post: Forbes say Millennials are going to have a tough time...

My personal opinion is that Millennials will be just like any other generation. There will be those who succeed and those who do not.

The entire face of "higher" education is changing and I am not sure where it will end up. Degrees seem to be losing some of their prestige and the kids who are showing up in the work force (in my area - IT) are not as prepared as the previous wave that I have worked with.

With that being said, my son will start Community College this summer. He plans on studying Diesel Engine Mechanics and getting a certificate in that area. He has expressed the desire to NOT get a four year degree. From his perspective the cost does not justify the benefit derived. As his studies progress I will ask him to reexamine those conclusions. He insists that he works to pay for at least part of his tuition and does not want to finish with a large debt load. Some of his friends shared these feelings as well when we have talked about it.

Most IP lawsuits are ridiculous these days. It is sad when there are whole companies who do not try to produce anything, but instead just sue other companies and make money by patent trolling...

Post: I need an app to organize my task better

I use Evernote for the things that I need to take care of.

The best part about it is that it can be everywhere I am. We cannot take phones into our offices, so I have to use the web apps for at least eight hours a day and Evernote has been easy to use and helps organize - everything.

Also, I am sort of the local "tech" guru which means I test and evaluate all kinds of different technologies. So far there are only a few apps which are "cross platform". Currently I am testing Samsung Note 3 and Galaxy Gear (neither of which can I take to the office). Evernote works fine on Android and my company provided iPhone 5.

Zig Ziglar!

His teaching style and the content of his courses are just awesome.

May he rest in peace...

Post: Do You or Does Someone You Love Serve in the US Military??

Thanks for this BP!

All of the male side of my family (including myself) have served at one time in the military. My oldest brother spent 16 years in the Air Force until he was kicked out for being gay. My next older brother did four years in the Marine Corps. I also spent 10 years in the Marine Corps and my twin brother retired from the Army.

Currently I support the military as a contractor in the Middle East. This information has been invaluable to me in getting started with Real Estate.

Just started listening to: "EntreLeadership" by Dave Ramsey.

You will find some really good information and answers to almost any question you can imagine about Real Estate!

I graduated from EHS but move away in the 80's. I own one house in Marysville and looking to expand my holdings in Snohomish county.

Welcome to BP Joel!

If you want information on the Snohomish County RE MeetUp contact @Dee Miles here on BP. She was the one who provided the information to me.

Good luck and I wish you success.

@J. Martin - thank you for the reply.

I do have relatives in the area who have lived there for quite a long time. It seems I may need their help in getting "qualified".

Plus, as some other forum posts have suggested I may have to put down a larger deposit to make up for my lack of history.
