@Mike M.

The previous post linked seems like a great strategy with appealing numbers.

Speaking of WA markets - I have been lurking on a few turn key rental websites for months now and have finally scheduled consultation for next week. This seems to be a lazy human's way to jump into investing, but I feel it would be a good way to learn some of the processes of investing while avoiding warming waters and time consuming rehab projects.

@Sally Helland your goals sound similar to mine. Having moved to Kitsap county from the south many years ago - I think it is a wonderful place to get excited about real estate investing. Bremerton always seems to stick in my heart and I love the idea of investing here. Sometimes the amount of information in this world becomes overwhelming though...now new WA state landlord laws!

As a newbie too, I recommend attending a few local real estate networking meetings. These evolving landlord laws weren't even something I was really tracking on until I attended my first REAPS Kitsap meeting just last week.

@Joshua Dorkin I feel like I am late to the game here, but great work on BP. Articles and information here have been a great resource and have me get started on a path to financial independence.

I was excited when I found this collection of articles on entity structuring; however,many of the links make me feel sad with "Page not found

It looks like the page you were looking for doesn't actually exist...". Have these articles been taken down for some reason?

Maybe this is just a sign that I need to start interviewing for a real estate focused tax advisor and lawyer.

@Justin Windham - thanks for the note. Yes, I have found the information here to be very informative.

@Jess Haas Thank you for the welcome. 50 is lofty, but I feel it is feasible. To answer your questions - Yes, I would like to continue my tech job while starting my business. It is a great paying career that pays the bills, provides insurance, and provides me the financial means to get started. I would prefer turnkey properties, or at least properties that don't need to be heavily rehabbed. How did I arrive at this number... - I discussed this with a mentor and landed on 50 for as an initial goal to get out of the 9-5 job. 10 years? well, I am 33 so making this happen before the age of 45 is the goal. Yes, I would be interested in learning more about the projects you currently have in flight.

@Jared Boundy - condo is on Bainbridge. Currently under contract.

@James Wise - Thanks for the welcome, excited to be here.

Hello Everyone. I have been interesting in getting into real estate since I was 12 years old working for a property management company cutting vacant property lawns in Monroe, Louisiana. Since then, I spent about ten years in the military and started a decent paying career in the Seattle tech industry. I am currently offloading a condo that was purchased four years ago with the hopes of re-investing the winnings on a small multi-family home in the Seattle or Kitsap county, WA area. I have the goal of 50 cash flowing units in the next 10 years. I intend to make 2020 the year of action for getting into real estate. I have been lurking on bigger pockets for a month or two now and am finally getting around to this new member post and exploring more of the useful content and tools here.
