Was just wondering the same. Did you find something? I'm considering a cheap android phone as a hotspot plugged with a cheap Mint Mobile plan.

I"m glad to hear your assessment of most deals not looking good. I was getting worried my underwriting spreadsheet was too conservative and I was missing out. I'll check out the meetup for sure!

I love the West Allis market.  Tough to make sense of 99% of deals right now but there are some good ones out there still.  Lots of good local groups to connect with.  I co-host one called Wisconsin Apartment Investors Meetup.  Next event is actually this Thursday in Waukesha!

@Tyler Hull those rents sound great. My first duplex is in a decent pocket on 59th and Greenfield. I don’t think I can get quite those rents but the numbers aren’t bad.

I’ll reach out and would definitely like to talk more!

I'm a newbie looking to buy two quality duplexes in the Milwaukee area as my first buy-and-hold rental properties. I've had a crash course on BiggerPockets in the last few months and after analyzing a few dozen deals, I have my first contract on a nice duplex in West Allis. I'm actively looking for my second, with a goal of adding a 4-plex in the next few years.

It's becoming incredibly hard to find solid duplex deals in this crazy market. I'm targeting West Allis, West Milwaukee, the near North side. I'm a little intimidated by Riverwest and Bay View, has anyone had good luck there? Prices seem sky high and ratios don't work out. Any other neighborhoods I should consider?

So - hello to all the BR'ers from Milwaukee! Are there any local groups you recommend joining for a first-time landlord? I wanted to say hi and thank you all for the amazing discussions you share with new investors like me.
