Is there already a BP app or just the website? If there’s no app yet, is it on the roadmap?

I feel the community and benefits would be SO much more accessible with an app!

Not complaining, just dreaming. Either way, I LOVE it here!

Thanks Ryan! I’ll definitely look into the local meetups as soon as we get settled!

The duplex was vacant when we bought it so I’ll be advertising for a tenant soon. 

I need to get the prop into an LLC as soon as possible and set up my RentRedi account/banking.

Hey there BiggerPockets family! I'm Steve from Cleveland, and I've been following BP and dreaming of owning real estate for 15 years.  I just closed on my first property yesterday!!!!  It's a duplex that I'll be house hacking.

Outside of real estate, I enjoy almost ANYTHING outdoors, when indoors I love movies and board games, I'm dedicated to my volunteer ministry, and I've become fluent in Russian (learning Ukrainian).

I also run my own SEO, marketing and web design agency, which I am PASSIONATE about!  It allows me to meet amazing people and help other business owners succeed.

I think Real Estate will do the same!

@Ryan Arth Excellent tips guys. Yeah my experience of living in Euclid has showed me that despite some very low costs, it may be difficult to get the type of tenants you're looking for with more longevity. How do you feel about renting to college students though? Doesn't that imply partying, damages, high noise levels, and lots of turnaround?

@Adam Craig Do you know if there are really any duplex or multi-family houses in Lyndhurst or Richmond Hts?

@Christian Carson South Euclid is a nice area, lots of character like you said, but what would you say contributes to the higher holding costs?

@John Ellis Thanks so much for reaching out to me John. I will definitely start with J. Scott's books. Great advice. If I hear of any good deals for a potential flip in Mentor I will definitely let you know. It's probably all I can contribute at this point. Thanks again. :)

@John Ellis I'd like to be as close to Lyndhurst as possible because I spend most of my time in that area and my wife works in Mayfield Hts. I don't really know of any duplex in that area which would fit my price range though. So, wanting to start small, I'll probably have to start off in Euclid or something like that until this thing takes off. Like I said I must minimize my risk. (Wife is fairly skeptical, as am I, but I figure if I at least cover my bases I should be okay.) Lyndhurst seem to have great potential though with high rent rates and great homes/schools/amenities/location. So far my biggest "weakness" is knowing how to determine rehab costs, ARV, and which improvements give the greatest ROI.

@John Ellis Thanks! I work out of Mentor installing security systems. It's a nice city but I don't spend too much time in the area itself. Any reason why you haven't invested there? And thanks for the tip, I already read the Guide. Invaluable!!!
