My wife and I are starting our Real Estate Investing journey and we are very interested in joining the Bigger Pockets bootcamps. We are newbies in the RE world with plans of finding a property to do House Hacking within the next 6 months.

What it make sense to take the upcoming Rookie Bootcamp and the House Hacking Bootcamp simultaneously?

Or to do the Rookie bootcamp first and then the House Hacking one?

If we do them separately, will there be another House Hacking Bootcamp this year?

Thanks in advance

Hi Alejandro—I manage our bootcamp program here at BiggerPockets. If you know house hacking is the strategy you want to pursue, I recommend jumping directly into that bootcamp. Rookie is a great place to start if you're still deciding on a strategy, but since you know you want to house hack, our House Hacking Bootcamp will give you a more specific curriculum. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Hello there! I am curious when the next enrollment period will be for these boot camps? I can’t join this time, but would love to jump on the next rookie boot camp!

We don't have exact dates nailed down just yet, but are planning another round of bootcamps in early 2023. Details coming soon!

Hi, My wife and I are new to real estate investing, have just joined BP, and would like to do a structured course on real estate investing.  We are interested in the BP Bootcamp. However, we live on the west coast and have busy schedules that will make it impossible for us to make the weekly online class at Monday 8pm ET/5pm PT. Can this lesson be watched later? Does the Bootcamp allow for more flexible participation during the week or is it set times? Insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi there! The weekly live Q&A sessions are recorded, so you'll be able to go back and watch those whenever is convenient to you. Every Tuesday, we'll release a new module with pre-recorded video lessons, quizzes, and assignments. You'll watch those at your own pace throughout the week. The module wraps up with the live Q&A on Monday nights, which are recorded. You'll be able to submit any questions you have ahead of time, so even if you can't attend live, you'll still be able to get your questions in front of the instructors. I hope this helps—let me know if you have any other questions!

I'am from Canada, and wondering is it possible to join the upcoming multifamily bootcamp on September, or is it strictly for U.S based individuals?

Thanks in advance!

The instructors are US-based, so it definitely has a US focus. Some of the instruction is universally applicable (figuring out who you need on you team, best practices for doing due diligence, the fundamentals of underwriting, etc.), but things some of the regulations and tax information will likely not apply.

Alicia Marks,

My name Is Maruba Harris, pro member. I enrolled in the Beginner Landlord Bootcamp for September. Unfortunately I used an incorrect email and didn’t receive the confirmation for the course. I’ve attempted to contact Mrs. Kerh without any success. Can you help me make sure I rightfully get access to the course.

 Hi Maruba,

Can you send an email to [email protected]? They'll be able to look into this for you!

I'm a complete rookie still just learning.  I've read most of the guides and other free content on BP, and the strategy that interests me the most is multi-family rentals.  Can I skip the Rookie boot camp and go straight to the Mult-Family?  or do they build on each other?

Thank you

Just FYI, the multifamily bootcamp is a little more focused on commercial multifamily (so 5+ units), and spends a good amount of time talking about raising capital and getting investors on board. It is a geared toward a slightly more experienced investor, but if you're comfortable asking for help when you need and clarification when you need it(I highly recommend attending the office hours hosted by the teaching assistants), I think you'll be fine.

thank you.  I'm not ready for the commercial marketplace.  I need to learn more about small residential mult-family (duplex/triplex).  Should I stick with the basics of the Rookie boot camp?

I think it depends on how much of a base understanding you have going in. The Multifamily course moves a little faster (though still covers finding a market, analyzing deals, making offers, etc.). Rookie spends a little more time going over the various investing strategies, types of funding, etc.

If you know you're interested in going the STR route, I would definitely start there—it will take you through identifying markets, analyzing properties, and operations, all through the lens of STRs. The Rookie course is best for folks who are still figuring out where they want to start—long term, short term, house hacking, etc. It's a slightly more general overview, aimed at getting you through the purchase of your first investment property. Our Rookie Landlord course picks up where Rookie leaves off, and is a deep dive into all things operations and management. I hope this helps—let us know if you have any other questions!

Hi @Heather Paternes—I manage our bootcamp program here at BiggerPockets so can give you a little more insight! We do have folks who have enrolled in more than one bootcamp at once—hopefully someone will chime in with their experience! In terms of time commitment, each bootcamp has about an hour of self-paced learning (which includes pre-recorded lectures and assignments), an hour live session, and an optional additional hour meeting with an accountability group each week. The live sessions are recorded, so there is some flexibility with when you watch them.

Our STR bootcamp is a little more beginner focused—the first half will focus on identifying potential markets and analyzing deals, while the second half gets into the nitty gritty of running the STR. The curriculum has changed a bit since we first offered this one—it didn't previously get into operations.

I hope this helps—let us know if you have any other questions!

@Eli Khounthavong, I manage our bootcamp program at BiggerPockets. If you're looking for help with the fundamentals, Rookie is probably a better place to start. Our Multifamily Bootcamp is geared toward slightly more advanced investors (or at least assumes some knowledge of terminology and basics) focusing on commercial properties. That said, if you're willing to do a little extra research or are comfortable reaching out to classmates and instructors for help when you need it, you should be fine. Hope this helps—let us know if you have any other questions!
