I am currently looking to invest in Dominican Republic for short term vacation rental. One of the questions that I am having trouble finding the answer to is when I am collecting my money from a foreign bank and send it to a US bank, do I have to pay any capital gains taxes in the US? I asked my CPA and he was stumped but said he would find the answer for me. I'm curious to know what has other foreign investors experience has been or just some insight on this subject.

I've read a handful of business and real estate books and financial literacy seems to always come up. I'm interested in taking an online course pertaining to financial education. However, I just can't seem to find anything thats not trying to up sale me by joining a program. I'm curious to know how did you gain your financial education and what advice can you pass on to others?

I currently own a home that is free and clear and interested in doing either a cashout refinance or getting a HLOC. I have a pretty good idea as to what I want to do but I am curious to know which option would you take and why? I am open to hearing any strategies that you guys may have and also the pros and cons that you've dealt with through experience. Excited to see what feedback I get!! Thanks in advance!!

Hello there BP family,

I have just got my offer accepted on my very first investment property and now its time for insurance shopping. I know there are different types of insurance based on what is the purpose of this property; I’m just not sure what exactly I should OR should not be looking for. This property is a residential home (in Tampa FL) that I will be using sole for long term renting. I would highly appreciate any advice, links, or articles that anyone can refer to me. Thanks in advance.
