Hey BP Community - I'm looking for CPA recommendations for help with W2 income, as well as, familiarity with fix and flips, STR, and LLCs. I'm located in the Denver area, but open to remote as well. Thanks in advance!

Successfully convinced me that it is not worth the hassle. My goal was to have something for guests to play music on, while also giving me a hub to automate our smart accessories like doorbell, lock, and exterior cameras. But all of those can be controlled in their native apps, and a simple bluetooth player will accomplish the first goal. 

Hoping to get suggestions on how to setup Alexa to control smart devices in our STR.

We'd like to create a new Amazon account and setup Alexa to control our smart home devices (lock, cameras, thermostat, etc.) but the problem I am running into is that to create a new account you have to have an email address and phone number that is not already tied to an existing Amazon account. New email is easy enough to setup but phone number is not. Does anyone have any suggestions on how they setup their STR Alexa integrations while keeping it separate from their primary residence?

Hi @Shawn Good my wife and I are in a similar position and would like to buy a STR in the fox lake area that we could also have for personal use as well. We've just started researching the area so was curious to see if you've made a purchase or how your experience has gone so far?

I'm looking at buying property with an existing SFR and an acre of land. The property is zoned R-2 which in my area means multiple dwelling units are allowed. The existing home on the property is in good condition and the neighborhood is one we are interested in living in as our primary residence. We are completely new to the home building process, but we would like to build our home on half the property and then would be open to either renting out the existing home or potentially selling it separately.

Has anyone gone through a scenario similar to this and willing to share suggestions? Is it smart to hold the existing property as a rental? Or try and sell the existing home while the market is doing well?
