Thanks Allie! Yes, I'd like some references for STR property managers first. It might be a little more hands on due to my schedule coming out only 60 days at a time but that's do able.

I get my schedule 60 days at a time at my airline released on the 20th of the month. So tomorrow, 9/20, I will know my schedule until the end of November. This would allow me to coordinate with my property manager and open up those days on Airbnb/Vrbo. For especially lucrative months (Super Bowl, Waste Management Golf), I feasibly could work over time for the whole month, visit friends, or use hotel points. 

This arrangement would cause use to miss out on the long term vacation planners but also there might be a premium we could charge by being a short notice STR, much like airline charge more for tickets closer to the day of travel.

I'm a cargo pilot and travel at least half the month. I'm thinking about buying a house and STR with a manager while I'm flying. Planning ~$800,000 range, pool, No HOA, 4-5 bedrooms with the master off limits to guests. Chandler and Gilbert area preferred. Any thoughts? I need a good real estate accountant as well if anyone has a recommendation.

FHA. Im already using two VA loans. Possibly.

Hey Stuart! Thanks for the info. 
I have a townhouse in Yuma, AZ and a condo in Chandler, AZ that I live in and rent the other room. I’m looking for a 4 plex in Mesa to house hack to get started in big deals. If opportunities pop up in layover locations in the future I certainly would be open to those. But for now trying to keep in local.

Thanks Jared! I’m off reserve this afternoon and am heading back to Phoenix. But I’m back here in Houston Aug 27th-Sept 10th. Longggg stretch of reserve. I’ll definitely make it out to an event then.

Hey all,

I'm looking to meet up with any and all investors and community members while on layovers. I'm a domestic cargo pilot and would love to learn and network. Currently, I'm on a reserve schedule in West Houston for the next 45 days so I'll have A LOT of free time. 

I currently have a townhouse in Yuma, AZ I purchased when I was in the Marines there. I just hired a property manager to make that essentially hands-off. And I have a condo in Chandler, AZ that I live in and rent the other bed room.
