Sold home on land contract but I still have a mortgage on it. Who writes off the mortgage interest on their taxes?

bond for title or commonly known as land contract.

No, I do not have an agent. Just wondering also how to transfer deed so buyer can realize the 4% tax rate. On a bond for title does the deed go into the buyers name?

I have a buyer for my home but they want a bond for title. Will we need an attorney for this? If so, who pays for what? Also, will the buyer then be responsible for property taxes and home owners insurance?

Thanks Bill,
I had taken that info into consideration previous to making my original offer. Price that other homes in that community had sold for, updating, etc; and arrived at my per sq ft offer. Whether accurate on my findings or not, I feel the home is now worth somewhat less due to the loss of 300 sq. ft. The question is now where do I go from here? I want to be fair to the seller (and myself of course).

I don't think seller intentionally mislead. I'm sure it was an honest mistake.
As I based my offer on $100 per sq ft = $300K, should I now reduce my offer to 270K = $100 sq ft x the correct square footage of 2700?

Home was advertised at 3000 sq. ft. of which I took into consideration when making my offer, now I'm told it's 2700 sq. ft. and I want to renegotiate my offer. Am I being reasonable? Seller doesn't think so.

As a buyer working with a realtor, I've requested a CMA on a property. I was verbally given a few comps but only one of those had sold.

Exactly what should a CMA contain?

I've a short sale in mind but can't find any info on current mortgage. Looks like the builder might have financed for the owners now in default. Any suggestions?
