I started my account years ago but just started actually being serious in purchasing my first property. I live up in reading/stoneham at the moment, any locations where you guys can toss for me to start looking for a triplex/quadplex. I have about 40k looking for something max 300-350K range, less is better. But I know Stoneham, Woburn, and north of boston is too dang expensive. Any input will help. I am willing to travel hours I just need to get my feet wet and start driving to search for locations! Thank you!

@Jim Blackbum he is willing to mentor me, and show me the ropes, but I was willing to start at 200-250k, he wants me to jump right into the 400-450k multi family properties, I guess it always comes down to numbers. Thx guys appreciate the input. @Steve Bracero it is a numbers game but its like flushing 3-4months of research in an area down the drain...It ain't easy ...

So I finally got pre qualified for a fha loan after months of applying. This is the first approval I have for a FHA loan (450k).

The dilemma is the guy who has helped me get pre qualified has multiple properties in lynn MA.  He has also been a landlord for years.I wanted to start in fall river/worcester area because of affordability. Do I just drop all my research I have put in in FR/Worcester and be mentored by this guy to purchase my 1st property in lynn which will be 400-450k for 3-4family which i can afford the mortgage on my jic of an emergency. Or do i stick to the fall river/worcester plan of purchasing my first multi which will be less expensive.

I live in stoneham atm.

To get pre-approved/pre-qualified for a loan, does anyone know how much points it costs on your credit?

Thanks for the Input

Any ideas on where to start driving for dollars in worcester area?

This will be my first home I am trying to purchase. But this was just my 1st loan specialist I went to. I needed somewhere/someone to really iron out where i am financially, what i qualify for, what type of credit I need, basic fees when purchasing a property. just a baseline to move up from, You know.
