Hello,   I"m in dire need of an eviction attorney in Kansas City, Kansas. ( Wyandotte County)  Paperwork has been filed.  A date has been set. June 30th.   A family member just went into the hospital and I will be unable to attend. ( I'm out of state)   I need an attorney to represent me in court.  Thank you.

Joel. Wanting to understand. Are you suggesting I ignore the back rent and instead pay him 200.00 to get out?  Does that work? What if he ask for more? I already sent the letter. At what point to I contact him with this offer?

Sorry about the double response.. new to this form of communicating. I so greatly appreciate your responses. I will need to update my lease to add the vacate policy. Kansas does not require a non renewal notice.  I sent one anyway.  I will contact him in writing concerning the phrase Nathan suggested.  Thank you again.

Thank you.  I was afraid of that. I'll hope he moves but plan on filing when the courts open.

I have a question for the group.   I have a tenant that is 1.5 months behind in rent.  He has not lost his job during the pandemic. He has never paid on time. I was in the process of eviction before the pandemic hit.   His lease is up at the end of the month. I have sent him a "Non renewal note" and he has acknowledge receiving it.  He hinted that because of the 'no eviction' policy, he does not need to leave.  I informed him that I'm not renewing his lease... not an evicting him.   The property is in Kansas.   What are my options if he refuses to leave at the end of the month?
