Keep in mind that just because homeowners don't have flood insurance doesn't mean they won't get the funds to fix their home. FEMA will be helping homeowners that don't carry flood insurance. Houston residents also have the option of applying for a low interest loan from sba.

@Rhiannon Then I am off beltway 8 and 45 south as well. No flooding in my home, but I've lost my car so far. All surrounding roads are flooded hip deep and reservoirs overflowing. Grateful to have no flooding inside my home and having power. How is your mother doing?
