Hello From Georgia,

My year and a day has passed on a tax deed property I purchased. I sent certified letters out to all parties regarding barring right to redemption, posted the barring in the newspaper. The 45 days have now passed. I am not looking to clear title at this moment, but wanted tho know how do I get the house in my name..I have the tax deed paper but wasn't sure if something else needed to be done. Do I notify tax assessors office?

Thanks...

Would you move forward with having the owner sign a quit claim deed? He wants to provide me with one.

Hello,

I purchased a tax deed on. Sept. 2, 2014. The 12 month right to redemption period is coming to a close. The owner doesn't want anything to do with the property and offered to sign a quit claim deed period to September 2, 2015. Is this legal?

I have no desire to sell the house, as it has sentimental value. My heart great grandmother lost the house to some swindlers who ended up abandoning the property..anyway..I paid the back taxes...at cost.

Do I even need to file a quiet title? I will rent....

Any advice??
