@Michael Plaks thanks for your reply. My property was sold in Nov 2019. How much would it be to have an advisor review my tax return before my tax provider submits it? Thanks

@Lance Lvovsky thanks for responding. Would she also use a schedule D for operational losses from rental, evictions etc?

For some reason she used schedule E, not sure why.

Hello everyone,

I live in California but I recently sold my rental property in Ohio. I experienced a loss in terms of property sale and operational costs (managing and maintaining the property etc). Does anyone know which form/forms to use to carry over the property sale loss and property operational costs losses to 2020?

My tax preparer tried to use schedule D during my tax returns this year but the loss was not carrying forward.

Any help would be so much appreciated! Thank you so much!

@Suresh Chinna i don’t know of a good one. I ended up selling my duplex in Nov -it was too hard to manage from afar without a strong team and my tenants were difficult in a D neighborhood so I let it go.

@Ana M. Thanks for your reply. I think I’d prefer a PM to help me and possibly do a corporate rental instead of an air bnb since my condo has some restrictions around this.

Hi fellow landlords,

I live in San Jose area and I want to rent out my condo during super bowl weekend in a few weeks and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction for a contract I’d be able to use to rent it out for 1-3 days, where I’d be able to rent out my condo on Craigslist and use a contract vs renting via air bnb.

Any suggestions and info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi fellow investors,

I have accepted it’s time to sell my investment in Cleveland, Ohio and was hoping you all would have some good contacts for handymen or workers to repaint, install carpet and deep clean. Thank you in advanced!

I have a realtor and we are getting my property ready to sell.

Does anyone know of anyone who does odd jobs? For example, I need someone to schedule a time for the gas co to go out to my property to let them in so they can inspect the gas meters.

Thanks!

Hello everyone,

I’m out of state and I own a duplex in a D neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio. My PM is in the process of evicting the tenant. I want to sell my property ASAP however I fear selling the property vacant because people have stolen piping out of the home before my purchase.

The unit that’s being occupied most likely needs to be cleaned out etc. would you recommend I sell after the eviction?

If so, should I install an alarm to prevent theft? What are some suggestions? Thanks!
