@Ryan Normand  Thanks Ryan!  I got a second quote, and it was much better.  They scoped the line and said that the main 3" line is in great shape, and doesnt need replacing, but we would need to replace the branch section from the kitchen sink to the main line, and that this section could be rerouted around the back of the house instead of tunneling under.  They had lots of options to reduce cost, they came in at $8k less than the first place, and I could knock even more off of it if I trench the new lines myself (the trenching and excavation prices were pretty brutal, I could hire it out for a fraction of the price).  I appreciate your quick response!

Looking for a plumber with creative solutions.  I have an older home that has a leaking iron sewage pipe under the foundation.  Had a company come out and said they need to tunnel under the house to replace the main section, but could do CIPP (plastic/PVC liner) inside some portions.  All of the endpoints (Bathrooms and kitchen) are on the back side of the house, so I am wondering if we could save money by going in through the back of the house, and then trenching a new sewage line from the back of the house around to the front to tie into the existing sewage line.  

I am updating a house is Southwest Fort Worth. I had a plumber out to fix a clogged sink. He said the old iron pipe had deteriorated and he would have to cut in to the wall to replace the drain pipe. His quote includes permit fees, so I am wondering if the permits are really required. Does anyone have advice or experience with this? Are permits required?

Hi everybody! I am new to Real estate investing, and just went under contract on my first house in the West Fort Worth area. I haven't gotten my inspection yet, but already I can tell the house will need a little bit of work to get it ready to rent. Can somebody please recommend affordable and reliable services for the following types of repairs: Bathrooms- both tubs and tub surrounds Will need to be replaced. Looking at maybe just doing a basic white plastic tub with a plastic surround. Flooring – I need to get about 300 to 400 square-foot of tile installed. Basic handyman and drywall work – it looks like there are a couple of areas where water pooled outside of the house, and a little bit seeped in, so some drywall needs to be replaced, and probably add some type of sealant to prevent the leaking in the future. I have already been looking through many of the forums and have found a lot of great information. Thanks to all of you have who have already posted recommendations for property management companies and foundation repair companies!
