Jeff Burdick hi and thanks for responding. I'm looking at a 200k budget for this adventure. I would like to house hack and live the property. Area isn't really a big deal, with my career I can kind of move anywhere. I've been also thinking about possibly finding deals near colleges, or universities where there will be a high volume of renters to rent to. I don't know if that's a good idea but feel free to weigh in.

Dhru Das Chris T. Hello you guys, I am kind of in the same boat as Tasha Beal I am a recent college graduate and would like to start investing in multifamily properties. Preferably 1-4units in the Chicago land area and was wondering if you could offer some insight on which areas of Chicago I should be looking at?
Michael Thornton thank you for your response, how are the prices out there any motivated sellers?
Antoine Martel thank you for your response, I'm looking to house hack with the property, that is why I'm currently interested in multi family.

Hello everyone and thanks for stopping by, so I'm looking to purchase my first multi family investment property (2-4) preferably. Was wondering if anyone had good recommendations as to what areas to start looking at, especially for a newbie like myself. Hopefully a area where renting is predominant. Thank you all for the help.

thank you hope to learn a lot!!

What is some advice you guys can offer to a new comer like myself about buying a rental property here in Illinois? I'm 23 years of age and know nothing really about the ins and out of rental property. Anyone willing to mentor?
