Quote from @Justin Moy:

I have not heard of someone being accused of discrimination based on a letter. When I was a broker we'd submit letters, but that was also 10 years ago.

You can probably mitigate the risks here by not mentioning your race or family structure and not including pictures.

Thanks. That makes sense. I just had remembered lot of podcasts here that suggested the letter so I have been amping myself up to write this heart throbber and leave no other option but to sell to us.

We are looking to purchase our first short term rental project. Just got off the phone with my unofficial agent talking about putting a potential offer in. I just suggested adding a nice letter to our offer. It would include some of the similar things that excited us about the property that the sellers agent made clear were things they also loved the property for. Our agent claimed that it was not suggested to add the letter and could be deemed segregation (if I’m remembering the term used correctly) have they select our offer that could be under what people are offering. Is this true?

Hey everyone! Been listening to the Bigger Pockets podcast/YouTube episodes for a bit now. We are now trying to make moves on our first STR property.

Living just outside of Boston, MA but are looking for something up in the White Mountains area as we love to hike and go up there anyway. Having a tough time tracking down a reliable real estate agent is the first hurdle we are coming across. If anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated.

Also very interesting in chatting about random easier to enter areas or success/failure stories from those also trying to work magic up that way.

Thanks!!
