Post: House hacking with FHA

@Shane Boyle That is exactly how I started here in Greenville, NC. I bought a duplex with a 3.5% down FHA loan. Stayed there for a year and just closed on my second duplex. You are correct you can't take out another FHA loan unless you have certain life circumstances.

Hustle on,

Sebastian

Cheers @Account Closed !

Back in December 2017 I had the same exact questions you had. I decided to start work immediately after graduation as a Financial Analyst (Manufacturing Accounting at a Pharmaceutical company). I took the money I would have spent on further education and applied that capital to my first house hack.

Deal 1: May 2018 House hacked Duplex.

Deal 2: April 2019 (Just submitted an offer for my second duplex).

Please reach out if you would like to talk shop!

Morning BP Nation!

Looking to get into my second Multi-family house hack. I have two options here I was wondering what y’all’s opinions were on these situations.

Normal Rent: $1,400/month

Short Term Rent: $2,800+/month

Option 1 4.25% Interest Rate:

140K One parcel (need to sell it someday all at once)

Insurance:94

PMI: 20

P&I: 585

$700/month

21K Down.

Option 2 4.25% Occupied Side 5.25% Investment Side:

140K two parcels (could sell one at a time)

Insurance: 94

PMI: 30

P&I: 309

P&I: 327

760/month

17.5K Down.

What option would you go with?

Cheers,

Sebastian

@Heidi Kenefick thank you so much Heidi! I will absolutely reach out. I’ve had nothing but success as well and the many I have referred have been amazing! I have found that some reach out on VRBO - I am going to market on there.

@Bob Mueller Jr. completely depends on the area. Eastern North Carolina it’s around $40/$45 a day.

@Nancy Bachety Side B will just about cover the mortgage and A will be pure cash flow. Diversification is really what it comes down to, for me I thought as though it was a safer move.

@Nancy Bachety thank you for the response! Currently I live in one side and rent the other. Looking for the next duplex now. June 2019 both sides will be rented. Short term in side A and long term in side B.
