Brian Karlow great thread! Are all your SF investments in the Algonquin area? I'm just starting out and was just wondering if Algonquin, west Dundee, Carpentersville, Elgin areas are good rental areas?

I am interested. I been looking for a local group.  I live in the Carpentersville area with interest in the northwest suburbs as well as Chicago.  I am new to real estate investing and I am looking to listen, learn, and network.  Please let me know where/when.

I was looking at homes in both Milwaukee and Madison WI to see how the market is there and I am finding multi family homes ranging from $4,000 to $100,000 in Milwaukee and $100,000 to $200,000 in Madison.  Why are the multi family homes so affordable in those towns?  I know Milwaukee made the top 10 list for the unsafest city to live in, however, Madison is considered a great place to raise a family.  Can someone who knows those areas share some light on these topics and if possible share some areas within those towns that are invest worthy.

Would you guys still be interested in meeting up and discuss real estate?  Is anyone free this weekend or the next to grab some coffee or lunch and discuss real estate?  Once we get the head count we can try to find a location to meet at.  Please let me know if there is still some interest.

I am curious to see if any real estate investors would be interested in meeting up some where in the northwest suburbs of Chicago (Algonquin, Elgin, Palatine, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, etc.). I am completely new to REI and I want to learn as much as possible so I figured why not get a bunch of people locally together for some coffee and talk real estate. Let me know if anyone is interested in getting together maybe this Sunday the 22nd or next weekend and grab some coffee or lunch. Once we get the number of people together we can decide on the location. If there is a meet up already please let me know.
