Hello, my name is Sean Buchner. I recently graduated from the University at Buffalo with a major in Structural Engineering. I got a job in Southampton NY on long island and I am looking to start house hacking around November - January. I need recommendations on good agents and property managers who understand investing because with the high price points and high taxes in NY I need to make sure the numbers work out and I find a good deal. I will be looking to buy in 4-6 months (roughly) because at that point I should have a decent amount for down payment and cushion. Please refer anyone or reach out if you serve this area. PS I have been reading/listening to podcasts for 2-3 years now so I am knowledgeable on the investing side and have experience with labor on residential house and now design residential house to stand as a structural engineering so I am ready to take all this knowledge and turn it into cash flow 

Hello, I recently finished my undergraduate degree in physics and civil engineering and will be taking 1 more year to do my master's in structural and earthquake engineering design. I will be 23 when I finish in May 2021 and want to get started house hacking soon after graduation, as I have experience project managing residential construction, have followed BP and other podcast/ read books for the last 2.5 years, and have some money saved up (I wont buy right after graduation, thinking like 4-6 months in to stack a few more dollars). I live in Rockville Centre NY on long island and as many places in NY the towns around me have taxes from 10-15k per year. I have done some preliminary research into some towns with more affordable house and taxes closer to 5k but wanted to see if anyone has some hidden gems on long island or even NJ (if I was to work in the city). 

Also is anyone in any long island RIA's, meet ups, or facebook groups that you could refer me to. (not the ones on BP meet ups, I got that lol)

Hello, I recently finished my undergraduate degree in civil engineering and have 1 more year for my master's in structural engineering from University at Buffalo. I live on Long island but want to move for the first few years of my career to start by house hacking a few properties and don't see Long island as a favorable market. I have considered moving all the way to south Carolina (for housing market and weather) but I also want to consider places closer to long island so I can stay more connected with my family and friends. PA looks like a good option, I wanted to se if anyone has any insights into this market and knows any good agents who could set me up on the mls. I still have to find a job but want to relocate based off of real estate market but also I love structural engineering (and I am top of my class) so I want to work at a good, well known company (larger cities like NYC and Philly. 

@Kyle A. I was thinking about house hacking for the year and then getting out and refinancing to a conventional loan when i graduate, still think ii should wait?

@Kyle A. Appreciate the advise. I just hate listening to all the podcasts and everything and feel like I am not “finding a way to figure it out” like brandon always talks about. Feel like Im dragging my feet and could be taking advantage of my situation

My name is Sean Buchner i am a civil engineering student at University at Buffalo . I am a senior but may be staying another year to get my graduate degree. I am looking to house hack and know some class mates who would live with me. I want to get an FHA loan but I do not have steady income at the moment. Is it possible to get a FHA loan under my name and then have a cosigner to qualify even if they do not live in the house? Also does anyone know any good members of the core 4 in the buffalo area and care to share?!
