@Marcus Pepe Thanks I'll give that a try.  How familiar are you with the area?

@Jacob Perez Will PM you thanks.

@Darryl Zuber Are you a local agent?

@Shelly F. Awesome.  You currently reside in Chicago?  I am in Ottawa now, Windsor soon but don't mind operating outside of my own city.

Hi Everyone.

Kitchener/Waterloo is considered the "Silicon Valley of Canada" because it's a city with a strong tech background (Google, Blackberry, and plenty of tech startups) as well as the University of Waterloo.  I believe that we are in a  major, prolonged tech boom that will last many, many years and am interested in this market.

Wondering if there is anyone operating in the area that can shed some light on the market based on personal experience?

Thanks!

If it's a good deal, then find a way to get the $$.

@Jessica Mayo I'm assuming your mortgage rate is fairly low in today's day and age; therefore, investing in mortgage payments is unlikely to get you the highest rate of return possible.

I think you should definitely build up your cash position while  keeping an eye out for more opportunities.

Good luck.

I agree, market crash predictions are useless. All we can do as investors is keep an eye on the underlying fundamentals of the particular city we are looking to invest in. Population growth, job growth, city beautification, etc. Fear is not an investment strategy.

Awesome!  A cool 41k, not too shabby.

I am from Windsor, just across the border.  I haven't investigated Detroit and surrounding suburbs yet, but am interested in doing so.  Any other areas that you find compelling?
