The over 15k penalty applies if you are earning more than 15k (outside investment income) so if you decide to still work your day job while taking SS then you will encounter that penalty.

If you take SS at 62 you will get about 75% of your full benefit and you will lock it in. If you wait until 66 you will get 100%, if you wait till 69 you should get around 130% of your benefit.

When it comes to SS, if you've had W-2 contributions for 30 years then you're set, they take the highest 30 years of income into SS. If you wait a few years after your official retirement age then you can get a multiplier of up to 1.3x your base. If your income can sustain you thru those years your income from SS could go up significantly.

Hi everyone my name is Sean Schexnydre, 30 years old and actually came across this community via their podcast. I've been involved in real estate in 1 form or another for about 12 years now, basically since I graduated high school. Currently I am a realtor although not very active, helping friends and family when the opportunity arises. My family runs a real estate development company and we specialize in commercial developing and leasing to government entities mainly in the Inland Empire. In 2014 I finished my degree in finance and decided to switch my focus from real estate to finance and currently operate as a Financial Consultant with AXA Advisors.

I've been in a number of more advanced techniques involving real estate investing via the family business but have not yet done any investing on my own and wanted to get started. I was impressed with the discussions on the podcast and thought I'd join in the conversation here and looking forward to getting to you know all of you.
