I just watched his webinar and was ready to plop down the $5k just to see the inside, but prayed and then thought I should check him out here and I'm glad I didn't do it. The webinar did give me some ideas.

I was told it had gone to $17,000 to be part of "the community" where there is no "hands on" or "one on one" training. What's the point if that is true? You can get all of that in a dozen different places for free. Our training in "one on one" and we guarantee a purchase. Guess it's all in what you know about that is available. Still, to join a group means you're going to get unqualified people expressing their opinions rather than their life long experience.

There are two levels. The Gator II group ($5k) and then a Sub"something" (I can't remember) and that's probably the more expensive one.

all deals have two main components: Price or Terms or a Hybrid of the two.

If the protege program is going to cost $20k-$30k up front (price), then I wouldn't pay 50% for deals (terms). I bet if someone is really serious about learning CRE and they don't have the $30k up front, they could offer better terms to the mentor. Like $0 up front (buy his book) and then 90% of your deals profit up to $X dollars. That's how I'd do it anyway... something like that.

Quote from @Joe Summer:
Hi everyone! Joined Land Academy within the past few months. The course is $2000+/- depending if they have a sale. I have to say the course is a disappointment, it's totally outdated. However, some of the intro music is comical..makes you feel like a band of belly dancers are about to arrive. I kid you not!!  Anyway, after the dancers leave, the videos seem to drag on.

They know the course is outdated and even say it. However, they want you to look up any questions or ask questions on their free forum landinvestors. That too is outdated...but they say the answers are still valid for many questions. So if you are new and have no clue...how do you know if the info in the course needs to be adjusted or questioned?? They count on their members to answer your questions, which their answers may or may not be correct.

But, if you want new, updated material, they have the $16,000 10 week career path class. Oh and they just came out today...         with the two "Brand New Intensives" classes. Members get $500 off for both classes. So your total is $3000. for the three week class.

So what did I pay for a few months ago???  Seems to me they should be sending new members the updated information...free!!!

The Land Geek. He too sells you the old outdated beginner course, then wants you to upgrade to the $10,000+ package.                LA and LG are great marketers, always huckstering something!

Seth Williams/RETipster really puts out a good product/course, offers tons of information, updates his material frequently (video and written), interviews guests offering valuable info (ex: asset protection, law, taxation). He does videos on how to use various software, he also does reviews on products (website, crm, mapping, etc) He offers two tier pricing for his course.
I would recommend ReTipster over the other classes.

Best to all!

What have you heard about Land Profit Generator? They are having a free Masterclass on Facebook in a few weeks... so far I'm not impressed, but I'm not easily impressed.

Quote from @Justin Reed:

@Andy Newbie Land Academy. 100%. I've unfortunately been though some of the other programs before I got to them (including what you have mentioned) and I wish I had just done Land Academy first. I would have saved myself a ton of money, time, and sorrow. They helped me make it a business, and provide ALL of the tools etc that you need instead of having to get things individually. Additionally, the way a lot of these other programs mail leaves a TON of deals on the table. If I followed the Land Geek methodology or Jack and Michele's way I wouldn't have about 75%+ of the deals that I do. It's crazy.

Save yourself some heartache and start right with Land Academy.

Justin, did you take all of those courses? Land Academy, Land Geek, Land Profit Generator, REI Tipster ?

Also, what would you say about the comment that they are outdated (all of them it appears)?

From the REIWeb Tools post (REIWeb Tools is synonymous with Marc Imhof):

#1 Marc Imhof is VERY accessible.
#2 Marc Imhof is VERY honest. He took over a half hour out of his day to talk with a guy (me) who had nothing but questions, doubts, etc...
#3 Marc Imhof is NOT pushy. He never even tried to get me to sign up for his program (I had already bought his 'Wholesaling for Cash" program). But he has several different hands on programs as well.

So, if you were thinking about his program and were hesitant because you weren't sure you could trust him, I can say with all sincerity, he is everything I said above and he truly cares about people. In fact he cares about people so much, he wants to make sure you really know what you're getting into BEFORE you spend any money. You can't go wrong with Marc Imhof.

From a rookie's perspective, the problem with you "more advanced" guys telling us rookies NOT to buy programs and to spend hours here....etc... is that it can take YEARS to filter through the garbage and if you go and "learn" by following some garbage, you just may be out MORE than $15k if you really screw up.

So instead of telling us NOT to waste money and to scour the pages here... how about directing us to a simple step by step learning process that is ultra conservative in nature that will allow us to make a deal, and maybe make some money, or better yet, if you really feel charitable, consider taking some of us on as apprentices and let is work for free for you while you let us see behind the curtain some real deals go down.

It's frustrating to be told to jump into an ocean of knowledge and make a go of it, it is at the very best, AS RISKY as buying a course at any price mentioned so far.

Age Now?----------
47

Age you want to retire?-------------
NEVER!

Net Worth needed to retire?--------
NA

Monthly Net Cashflow to retire?--------------
NA

I don't even look at it like that.... Here's how i look at it.

What Do I want (that money can buy):----------

100 -500 acre ranch with 3000 sq ft home (log cabin style), with a running stream and maybe a lake. $2M-$5M

Hughes 500 Helicopter - $1M

So I guess my goal is $3M-$6M and when I get there, I'll make a new goal.

I can't even imagine not working. I LOVE working. Retirement is just waiting to die.

That's my 2 cents.
