Ok, BiggerPockets people, question for the week:
What is the best way to vet out of state property managers in order to ensure that, as an out of state investor, one selects the most appropriate property manager? All information from anyone knowledgeable regarding this topic would be great.

This is a great discussion. A lot of good information and a great matrix created by Art Perkitny. Silicone Prairie definitely peeked my interest, thanks Rebekah Schmitz. Cleveland also keeps coming up by many of you. Will Clark also mentioned NASA hub in Huntsville. Going to keep analyzing all this info. I appreciate everyone’s contribution, even those who thought I was looking 100,000 properties to buy....lol. My mistake, I should have been clear 100k meant dollars and not units. Posting another question Sunday based on Andrew Syrios’ post. My discussions not only help me, but are meant to help those needing your expertise and opinions.
Thanks everyone

@Anthony Gayden thanks Anthony. I will look at the area. Any specific areas that I should avoid? I don’t mind investing in hard working blue collar neighborhoods, just trying to avoid gang infested areas.

Hello Jordan,
Thanks for reaching out. I am still interested in the Lubbock. Currently doing some research in the area, as well as surrounding areas. I would love to keep in contact with you. Could you please scan me over a copy of your business card so that I can save your contact information.
Thanks, Robert Perez

Great webinar today hosted by Brandon Turner regarding analyzing rental properties. What cities in Texas are worth taking a look at for rental properties purchases? Any input would be great. Thanks everyone.

@Deonte Ademiluyi, so Deonte, I saw your post and read a lot of feed back like, “You’re not an investor” because you haven’t invested. Or a post minimizing what you have saved, by saying that your money won’t even cover the cost of purchasing property. A lot of your reply’s have truth to it, but no one has congratulated you for taking the step of wanting to invest. You are 20 years old, and if I had that mindset when I was you age ( I’m in my mid 40’s) I would be well off by now. I purchased my first home at 40, after years of renting and saving and am now looking on purchasing a second home and renting my current one. You should keep saving aggressively since you are young. Do not get tempted to spend your money on a car. Set goals for yourself and try and save $5,000 within a year. Also, I do a lot of researching and learning in the BiggerPockets YouTube channel. They have a lot of great ideas, but you have to be disciplined and committed. Keep up the excellent work. I am proud of you you n man. Do not loose track of your vision. I saw a video on YouTube “How to Stop Living Paycheck to Paychck in Four Steps” by Brandon Turner. Start there. Again, I am proud of you son.
