Cheers @Karen Margrave! Thanks for the tip; I'll take a look into the Allied Schools program!

Hey @Karen Margrave do you think the reference book on the website would be sufficient as study materials? I know I'll still have to take the classroom courses, but just wondering!

Bump! I'm also interested in checking out a REI club in SF. Like OP, no car, and would like to check out a meeting that's free before having to fork out membership fees. Would love to find something in SF proper, rather than East/South Bay.

Hi @Pete Tam ! I just joined biggerpockets, and want to get my real estate license. I live in SF, so I was wondering what course/program you're taking right now. Are you taking classes at a university in person or are you doing an online class?

Thanks for the warm welcomes, @Brandon Turner and @Mehran Kamari! Glad to be here.

I've already read the Beginner's Guide, but I'll happily take Mehran up on those books he recommended! Thanks for the suggestion!

Hi all! My name is Sarah. I recently graduated with a degree in finance and have been working in SF in the hedge fund industry for almost a year. No real estate experience yet, but have been serious about obtaining a real estate license. (Side note: any recommendations on real estate licensing programs in the bay area/online?)

My family owns a couple of multifamily properties in the city, and part of the reason why I'd like to get my license is to be able to help them out. My grandfather purchased the properties decades ago, and since he's passed nobody else in the family really knows anything about real estate. I want to make sure we're working with a good property management team.

Additionally, I'd like to start real estate investing as well. I have gotten my toes wet by investing in Vanguard's REIT fund, but would like to take the plunge into landlording in the next few years.

I'm a big fan of personal finance, and found out about this site through a forum on an early retirement site. I'm excited to learn and can't wait to get started.
