Post: LLC Confusion - Out of Country Investor

Hey Guys

Hoping I can engage the brains trust for some clarity. I'm an out of country (Australian) US real estate investor. When I first got started I incorporated by LLC in Kansas City Missouri however ended up buying my properties in Memphis Tennessee. What is the best way to structure this? Create an entirely new LLC in Tennessee or pay a foreign filing fee? It's kind of frustrating because i'm not doing business in Kansas City at all.

Would love your thoughts

Sarah

Hi Folks

I’m an Australian investor with 8 properties in Memphis Tennessee I would like to refinance my loan on a 30 year loan. I’ve had a cashflow positive portfolio for 3 years now and I’m being refused finance as I don’t have an SSN as I’m not an American resident I can’t obtain this. In order to buy the properties I already put 25% down to begin with.

I’m hoping to establish a good relationship with some lenders out there as I’m launching a business to help other Aussies invest in real estate in the US. Financing is certainly a bit barrier to this.

Any advice or connects would be appreciated!

Cheers

Sarah

Hey Guys

I'm an Australian investing in the states and after seeing the air bnb rates people are getting in Hawaii in particular Waikiki, became interested in the real estate there. In other states in America I have been going through a turnkey provider they have also assisted me with non recourse finance as well as property managers etc.

Look forward to hearing from some bigger pockets people

Cheers

Dean Letfus thanks for the heads up I'll be sure to crunch the numbers and analyse the deals properly and if they don't work then I won't be investing in that area. It was mainly the advice we were given by the rich dad poor dad education so we haven't had a chance to have a look at the deals ourselves yet... where abouts in Aus have you invested? We find the entry price here to be quite high
