Bigger pockets Community, My first deal just went down the tubes b/c my parents who where my cosigners have "too much debt" (they're investors) according to wells fargo. I was also reduced hours and am now a part time worker. I have 12k of my own cash. Is there still a way to buy a house invest. My dream would be to start with a Quadplex in Los Angeles or anywhere in socal. But can it be done $13/h part time, 12k in the bank, a gifted property that produces net rental income of $700. Just curiious and wanting to know what needs to be done in order to get such a house. I've been working my back off just to make this happen and I don't want to give up now. I have to keep moving.

Miguel Vazquez, I had the same question. I'm 21 and I've been working part time as well going to community college part time. I'm in the same boat as you. undecided to go into one field or the other which is going for a real estate brokers license. I can only offer this advice; if you choose to go to work and school at the same time get all your stuff in order. two years of W2's or taxes, (or less if you go with the right agent/lender) a good downpayment, no debt, and if your family has given you investment properties put those in too so you can qualify for more cash. Source: my personal experience. Glad to see that there are other young people here who want to this this too!

Hello Everyone, My name is Jorge Ortega and I look forward to learn from everyone.

About me: Im 21 years old and I'm wanting to join this REI business. I grew up around this business. I've seen the benefits and responsibilities of REI firsthand. However, I'm looking to venture on my own and I got to say that there many things that I need to learn. :)

My mother always told me that nothing is impossible. She also taught me to dream. I'll never forget a time she took me up the Griffith Observatory in Los Angeles and said, "one day one of these houses will be ours" I'm glad to say we now have several! :)

I want to take what my parents have done and follow their footsteps, even exceed them!

I stumbled upon this website while googling and I must say this place is awesome! Its like mentoring but without the big price tag! (I've had friends who sadly spent money on mentoring only to have to pay more) I can't wait to ask, read, and learn from everyone. My mother always told me that it is always best to learn from others than learn from experience. I can't wait to do that here.

thanks for letting me part of this community,

Jorge Ortega

P.S I can't seem to change my profile pic. BP says I've already uploaded a pic when in reality I have not uploaded anything. Any ideas?
