The title company thought that the first was paid off because it was 5 years older and a lesser amount than this one. I tried to contact the third party for the first but they wont even talk to me because i am not the original borrower. Technically, am i not the owner of the property because i hold the deed that i purchased through a foreclosure auction?

Help! A couple months ago, i purchased a property at the foreclosure auction on what i thought was a first lien. The title company assured me that it was the first and that they would insure it. Well, It turned out to be the second. The first has now put a NOD and intent to sell on the property. I recorded the deed to the property but didnt get title insurance and now, the title company will not insure because of the NOD. What are my options now? Please help.
