Okay, In your example. My tenants want to be out before the end of the current lease. Payed in full to end of lease. My tenants will still be liable for new lease till I get property rented. Even though they gave me 30 days notice of vacating property prior to new lease starting.

I would like to do the right thing and let them go. However, in these times it could be difficult to find a new tenant with a secure job.

Calif doesn’t have a law to support tenants changing there mind after signing a renewal lease more than 30 days out?

Thanks again for your help,

Sam.

Hello,

I have a question about california leases. I’m a new Landlord with a few property’s. I have a tenant that has already renewed a lease for another year. They signed the renewal lease Pryor to April 1. The new lease starts on may 1. The tenant now wants to terminate the lease. Being I have a payment on the property I was trying to negociate to keep them in the property. I tried to reduce the rent payment. They still want to terminate the lease. Are they legally bound to the new lease ? What are my options? What legal documentation will they have to give me for termination.

Thanks for your help.

Sam
