Yeah, Finance will definitely help somewhere in your future... as long as you are not majoring in Art History!! LOL! What I am doing in college does not have any direct correlation to RE, however I plan on starting a wholesaling business in 2 months when I move down there. Balancing that with my grades should be a challenge on its own but why not try. You did not come out and say it but I am assuming you are on the same page as me and realize you definitely don't need college to be successful. Although you do only get one life, and from what I hear college is a f ton of fun. Its up to you if you want to sacrifice that for what could be more money in your future. But the way I see it is, going to live on your own and collaborate with people, can set you up for a pretty good foundation in your business if you are willing to put the time and effort in. By the way, how old are you? When would you go to college if you did?

Hey, my name is Sam. I'm 18 years old and I live in Hudson, Massachusetts. In August of 2019 I am moving to Florida to attend the University of Tampa. One of my friend's dad inspired me to start reading books by Robert Kiyosaki, Donald Trump, Tim Ferriss, etc. With that I became more and more interested in real estate investing as I continued to learn. Which is where I have found myself taking notes on YouTube for the last six months, from videos created by Graham Stephan, Clayton Morris, Tom Krol, and many more. All of these men agree that the education system in place is clearly not working and instead to focus on a more effective path in order to increase passive income and achieve financial freedom. Realizing that my own mindset has roughly the same principles, I would much rather spend my thirties how I want to, instead of working a 9 to 5.

I love to talk to more knowledgeable people in the real estate investing world, and enjoy teaching what I do know to the people who are willing to listen. With that said I understand that listening is far more valuable than speaking, and will carry that belief forward with me. Please feel free to start a conversation with me at anytime. You can private message or ask for my number :)

My Goal (6 Months): Successfully start a Wholesaling Business in Tampa, Florida, and make my first Assignment Deal in this time period.

My Goal (2 Years): Build up enough Capital to Buy, Renovate, and Rent out my first home, while still attending school.

My Goal (Longterm): Generate a Portfolio producing $125,000/month, get mBA from UT, live a lifestyle doing what I enjoy.

I'm attending the University of Tampa in a couple of months and I'm majoring in "International Business & Entrepreneurship". What I'm hoping to learn is a broad understanding of the economy as a whole and an in depth learning of starting and running a business, which hopefully I can apply to my REI in the future. It's truly a shame that colleges don't offer any real estate courses given its billion dollar industry, I'm going for the experience, won't be in much debt (doing well in high school), and plan to start my own business while taking classes & having fun ;). Hope this helped in some way lol, but thought I'd share what I'm doing.

Hey Guys, first time posting here. So in late August I'm moving to Tampa Bay to attend the University of Tampa as a freshman. While doing so, myself and possibly one of my roommates will be staring up a wholesaling business. I have been studying a great deal into Rental Property Investing, and Wholesaling and have been told the best way to learn is to do. And I mean if there is ever a time to fail and go broke, its when you're 18 and have under five grand to your name.

So a couple questions:

Do you guys think it is a good idea to potentially partner up with someone, starting a business for the first time to have someone to learn the process together? If anyone wants to share the Pros v. Cons they've experienced in the past, please do!!

Another question more specific to wholesaling. I've watched a lot of YouTube & listened to a lot of Bigger Pockets Podcasts, and for anyone that has wholesaled before... Is it essential to speak to an attorney about forming a Purchase & Sale Agreement or is it entirely possible to form one yourself from online resources. Note, we are on a budget of about $6000, ($1000/month) for the first six months and have set a goal to close our first deal within that time period. An attorney can get fairly pricey, so is it worth it to spend the $300 for a very well done contract or are there alternatives? Any recommendations from former experience would help a ton!! Thanks Guys :)
